Lawsuit Alleging Discrimination and Retaliation Filed On Behalf of Former APL Employee

Less than a month after the ADN published recordings of Anchorage Public Library Director Judy Eledge making racist remarks against Alaska Native people, Ms. Eledge resigned from her position with the Municipality of Anchorage.  

The same day, Shortell Law LLC filed a lawsuit against the Municipality for breach of the implied covenant of good faith and fair dealing, as well as discrimination based on sex, retaliation, and negligence.  Although the lawsuit does not name Ms. Eledge personally, the lawsuit's allegations focus on Ms. Eledge's behavior, to which Shortell Law LLC's client was subjected during her employment with the Municipality of Anchorage.
